The prime focus of our lab is towards exploring new reactivities and concepts in
the domain of catalysis and asymmetric synthesis. The protocols developed through
these explorations are designed in a way to facilitate the drug discovery program
. Moreover, we are also active in the domain of photocatalysis
with a goal of developing general protocol for enantioselective radical reactions.

Organic Synthesis and Catalysis
The main focus of our lab is towards developing new reactions in the domain of catalysis
(Photocatalysis and Organocatalysis). The protocols developed through these explorations
are utilized for our medicinal chemistry efforts. Our research program can be summarized
in following categories:
1) Photocatalysis: Development of novel radical
reactions underpin the notion behind
the advancements in photocatalysis. In this field our lab is working upon finding
simple yet effective organocatalytic photochemical reactions.
2) Lewis Base Catalysis: In this area our efforts
are directed towards developing novel thiocyanation reactions and their applications.
3) Enantioselective Brønsted Acid Catalysis:
Relying upon different activation modes of chiral phosphoric acids we are developing
novel methods for asymmetric synthesis of biologically relevant scaffolds.
