Ammelioration of Toxicity, Genotoxicity evaluation
DNA is the genetic material in most species. The maintenance of its integrity is prime for the survival of the species. However, many a times the maintenance tools
fail and mutations occur. Continuous accumulations of such mutations lead to disease conditions like cancer and sometimes to
lethality. The focus of our laboratory is to check and evaluate the drug induced mutations at nuclear, chromosomal and at DNA level.
Simultaneously we study several types of Toxicity and the pathways that are affected by the toxicants in in vitro and rodent
models. At the same time we study the association of SNPs with different types of cancers especially breast cancers and head
and neck cancers in several Indian sub populations.
