About the Centre

The Center of Excellence for “Fundamental and Translational Research in Ayurveda” at CSIR–Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR-CDRI), Lucknow, has been established in 2024 with support from the Ministry of Ayush to bridge traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern biomedical science. The Centre focuses on immunomodulation, inflammatory biology, translational therapeutics and metabolic regulation using scientifically validated Ayurvedic formulations and medicinal plants.

Research Objectives

Rasayana Churna Research

Assessment of immunomodulatory properties and therapeutic potential of Rasayana Churna.

Allergy & Inflammatory Disorders

Evaluation of Albizia lebbeck (Sirish) in allergic and inflammatory diseases.

Metabolic & Translational Studies

Investigation of anti-inflammatory and metabolic activities of Semecarpus anacardium (Bhallataka).

Advanced Research Infrastructure

The Centre is equipped with advanced metabolic phenotyping systems, translational biology platforms, inflammatory disease models and immunological assessment facilities supporting cutting-edge Ayurveda research.

Project Inauguration

The Centre of Excellence was inaugurated under the Ministry of AYUSH initiative to strengthen evidence-based Ayurveda and translational scientific innovation.
