Neurological Disorders

Our team conducts fundamental research to expand our understanding of neuropathic pain, cerebral stroke, major depression, and neurodegenerative disorders. We aim to identify new drug targets and develop advanced therapeutic strategies.

● Discover and develop novel therapeutics.
● Conduct disease pathological studies.
● Develop multidisciplinary innovative research platforms to transform our understanding of human brain functioning and its aging mechanisms.

Core Competencies and Activities

● Design, synthesis and high throughput screening of novel molecules as potential modulators.
● Transgenic (C. elegans/mice), surgical and pharmacological models of neurological disorders.
● Primary cortical and hippocampal neuronal model systems to investigate synaptic plasticity, neurodegeneration, and live Ca++ imaging.
● Perform neurobehavioral tests.
● Live animal/animal brain imaging using high end imaging systems.
