Goals

  • ● Create platform technologies for early and rapid detection of viral diseases.
  • ● Research on virus pathogenesis to meet national priorities for tackling viral diseases, including oncolytic and veterinary viruses.
  • ● Develop safe and cost-effective therapeutics including vaccines/drug repurposing.
  • ● Research and develop targeting triple-negative breast cancer.

Core Competencies and Activities

  • ● Virus culture and BSL-3 facilities.
  • ● Platform assays for quick repurposing against emerging viruses.
  • ● Ex vivo bio-models for viral infection using human organoid cultures.
  • ● Investigate mechanisms of viral entry, pathogenesis, and host-virus interactions with emphasis on SARS-CoV-2.
  • ● Development of murine viral disease models.
