Academic Affairs Unit

The Academic Affairs Unit at CSIR-CDRI oversees all academic activities, including the coordination of doctoral programs from admission to viva voce. It manages outreach programs like Jigyasa, Vigyan Jyoti, and Atal Tinkering Labs, fostering scientific curiosity in students. The unit also leads health awareness initiatives and societal programs involving Ph.D. students.

What we do

1. Ph.D. Admission

The unit facilitates and coordinates key processes for research scholars, including Ph.D. admissions, regular assessments, thesis submissions, and the conduct of viva voce examinations.

2. Facilitate Placement

The unit actively supports the placement of Ph.D. graduates by connecting them with alumni networks and leveraging other resources. Additionally, it assists Ph.D. holders in securing positions in the industry, fostering a seamless transition from academia to professional careers.

3. Organize Events

The unit organizes and oversees academic events, including the Ph.D. induction program and the Ph.D. orientation program for all newcomers. It actively participates and plays an organizational role in all major institutional events, including National Science Day, CSIR Foundation Day, and CSIR-CDRI Foundation Day.

4. Support Student Affairs

The unit supports the Institute's management in student affairs, alumni relations and all student-related activities on the campus. This includes initiatives like the AcSIR Science Club and the ACS International Student Chapter, among others.

Academic Council

The Academic Council is responsible for monitoring academic activities within the institute and ensuring compliance with academic guidelines and standards. It focuses on maintaining the quality of teaching, promoting student participation, and conducting internal reviews. Additionally, the council gathers feedback from faculty and students to enhance academic learning and continuously improve ongoing academic programs
