In line with the principles of the 4Rs (Reduce, Refine, Replace, Rehabilitate), NLAC is committed to ethical animal experimentation. The center also emphasizes human resource development by offering training programs, workshops, and seminars in laboratory animal science and welfare. These initiatives aim to enhance skills in animal care, breeding, management, and experimental techniques.
NLAC provides external services such as supplying research animals to CCSEA-registered facilities, offering health and genetic monitoring services, and supporting in-vivo experiments through institutional collaborations. Through its comprehensive infrastructure and dedicated team, NLAC significantly contributes to advancing biomedical research and upholding high standards of animal welfare in scientific studies.
Institutions, PIs, researchers who wish to avail services of NLAC for procurement of genetically defined, health tested research animals are requested to forward their applications via email only with a copy of CCSEA registration number of their facility and valid IAEC certificate against which animals are requested.
