Research in our group involves the identification of bioactives from natural sources and development of novel strategies for the synthesis of medicinally active heterocycles

The chemical diversity of natural products has guided the drug discovery research worldwide. Bioassay guided isolation of secondary metabolites from plants and microbes is presently undertaken in our group towards identification of new leads.

Nitrogen heterocycles are the most frequently encountered drug/lead scaffolds. Our group is working on development of synthetic methodologies for construction of nitrogen heterocycles as well as late stage functionalization of bioactive compounds. Our synthetic studies are mainly directed towards new therapeutics for parasitic diseases and CNS-CVS Disorders
