The Society of Biological Chemists (India) [SBC(I)] is among India's oldest and most respected scientific societies dedicated to advancing biological chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry and allied life sciences.

Established in 1930, with its headquarters at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, SBC(I) has played a pivotal role in promoting scientific research, education, and collaboration across India.

Today, the Society has grown into a vibrant network of more than 3,700 life members representing universities, research institutes, hospitals, and industry.
