MAIN AREAS OF ACTIVITY

The S&T Management Unit is nucleus of multifarious management and coordination activities, which includes project related work (grant-in-aid, network etc.), HRD & HRM, website & intranet, ISTAG, RTI, press & media, technical information, societal activities, organizations of event, public relation and other miscellaneous activities.


Preparation of annual plan document; vetting of project proposals; revised estimates & budget estimates; monitoring of funds through Real Time Budget Monitoring Tool; Incorporating of newly joined staff and new sanctioned projects in SnP software; co-ordination with Finance & Accounts, Stores & Purchase section of the institute; coordination with Planning & Performance Division, CSIR and monitoring of R&D activities; R&D Highlights and preparation of executive summary for RC meeting; vetting of expenditure statements, utilization certificates; maintain project folders and record keeping; security & sensitivity clearance from CSIR for the projects involving foreign agencies; digitized information management.


Execution of internal transfers of staff; background work for recruitment of technical & scientific staff; process of staff nominations for honours & awards and fellowships; process nominations for participation in conference/symposia/seminar/workshop/training programs; advance training courses for postgraduate students /faculty/employees of R&D Institutions/ industry/government laboratories, academic institutes etc. and for IAS, INSA & NASI summer fellows; specialized training in instrumentation (SAIF) and laboratory animal science for technical personnel.


Organizing student motivation programs at CDRI; Outreach program for motivation of student and teacher’s at villages; Health awareness programs at villages;


Maintaining and updating the CDRI Website and intranet; biological screening services for external users; attend queries from various corners (Govt./non-Govt. agencies); replies to parliament and audit queries; print and electronic media management; managing database on projects, patents, staff, research fellows, budget, ECF, awards, conferences / symposia /seminar / workshops etc.


CSIR-CDRI annual report; newsletters; inputs for CSIR news and CSIR annual report and preparation of monthly reports and release of advertisements.


Process foreign deputation proposals for scientists and technical staff visiting abroad to attend conferences, meetings, fellowships, bilateral exchange programs and instruments trainings etc. submitting of foreign deputation reports to the Head, ISTAD, CSIR of scientists visited abroad; arranging training programs for foreign candidates; coordination of distinguished foreign visitors/delegation at CSIR-CDRI; International collaborative projects, Bilateral international cooperation programs


Co-ordination and ERPS implementation at the institute.


Disposal of queries for Scientific & Technical matters regarding Right to Information Act-2005.


Green CSIR-CDRI initiative by plantation in the premises.
