Developed the institutes HRD policy and vision statements.

The objective of Human Resources Development /Management Policy is to enhance a vision to ‘Persistently develop, revise/update competency profiles to meet changing demands’. The mission is to (a) Imbibe high standards of organizational values (b) Foster a culture of trust, openness and mutual trust (c) Integrate employees towards organization goals (d) Build and upgrade competencies and (e) To inculcate higher understanding of ‘Service’ to a greater cause.

Introduced Orientation Programme for the newly joined staff to familiarize them with the vision, mission, goals, ethos/culture of CDRI. Competency Development Programme for the technical staff.

Green Campus Initiative

Motivated staff and students to adopt Trees to make the campus Green Environment. More than 600 Trees adopted by staff, their family members and institutions have been planted across the campus.

Intellectual Property Rights and Related Issues:

Patents

Protection of institutes IP is a major objective to safeguard institutes R&D initiatives and achievements. As a Nodal Officer in the past two and a half decades build IP portfolio. Foreign Patents Granted- 222, Indian Patents Granted- 252, Foreign Patent Applications Filed-405 and Indian Applications Filed- 356. During the period Maintained highest Patents Commercialization ratios amongst all the CSIR Labs.

BOOKS/CHAPTERS

Compiled and published (June 2009) - An Instruction Manual “How to Handle Inventions, Tripathi Vinay*, Kulkarni Sripati Rao & Imam Zaka” to keep the scientists and technical staff, abreast about the importance of IP regulation and procedures to protect IP generated. Gives an overview on all aspects of IP covering definition of IPR and its forms, a comprehensive and useful document (No of chapters 3, pages 36).

Involved in several internal publications.
